Commissioner Olson to Lead Utility Tax Reform Workshop

PHOENIX — Commissioner Justin Olson will lead a workshop on Wednesday, January 31 to discuss the impact of federal tax reform on current utility rates. The recent passage of federal tax reform changes the tax liability for corporations and pass-through business entities which could benefit utility customers when they open their monthly bill. The federal tax overhaul affects every regulated utility that maintains a corporate tax liability as an element of its revenue requirement.

Commissioner Olson’s workshop will address the potential this legislation has on lowering customer’s utility rates. Regulated utility companies were instructed to file their comments or proposals to the Corporation Commission docket by January 20, 2018 ahead of the public workshop. The workshop will be streamed live at The docket can be viewed at Go to eDocket and enter docket
