Stakeholder Meeting Set to Discuss the Role of Forest Bioenergy in Arizona



PHOENIX — The Arizona Corporation Commission will host a stakeholder meeting next Monday to discuss the role of forest bioenergy in the state. During their monthly Open Meeting last week, Commissioners talked about the swift action needed to restore healthy forest conditions in Arizona while using forest biomass for renewable energy. Commissioners directed Utilities Division staff to work with industry and stakeholders to create a guiding policy on forest bioenergy. Monday’s stakeholder meeting will be open for discussion among stakeholders with no votes to be taken by Commissioners during this meeting.
