Commission Finds Promoters of Faith-based Films Defrauded Investors

The Commission found with unanimous consent that Bear Fruit Films violated the Securities Act registration and antifraud provisions by misleading 72 Christian investors out of $1.5 million for selling securities to finance faith-based film products. The Commissioners ordered that restitution paid in the amount of $1,590,500 and administrative penalties against Bear Fruit Films at $110,000; for Mark Smith to pay $75,000; and James Simmons to pay $110,000 as a result of the case findings.

Lakewood Water Company Rate Adjustment Approved

Lakewood Water Company is a Class E utility with 316 customers. Commissioners unanimously approved a rate adjustment and request for a 20-year loan to implement infrastructure improvements. Lakewood Water Company must provide a customer notice for the rate and charge increases and their effective date. Commission staff also made recommendations to curb their water loss from 14.8% to under 10%.

UNS Electric, Inc. Granted REST Plan Extension

The Commission unanimously approved UNS Electric's request for an extension of their 2021-2022 Renewable Energy Standard and Tariff Plan until July 1, 2024.

Arizona Public Service Transmission Project Approved

The Commission voted to approve a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) by the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee authorizing construction of a 0.6 mile 500 Kilovolt interconnection and connect the Proving Ground Solar Storage Project to the Hoodoo Wash switchyard located near Dateland, Arizona.

THSI BN, LLC Transmission Project Approved
The Commission voted to approve a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) by the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee authorizing the Three Sisters Solar 230 Kilovolt Gen-Tie Project located in Cochise County, Arizona.

Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement Transmission Project Approved

The Commission voted to approve a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility (CEC) by the Arizona Power Plant and Transmission Line Siting Committee authorizing construction of two parallel single circuit 500 kilovolt transmission lines in Maricopa County.
