Health Insurance Benefits (Optional)

Eligible employees may choose from a variety of insurance plans, with 80% of the costs paid by the agency.  We offer two medical plans, two dental plans, vision, and flexible spending accounts for eligible health and dependent care expenses.

Generous Paid Leave Programs

Eligible employees accrue paid vacation at 13 days per year (increasing with time in service), sick time at 12 days per year, and 10 paid holidays. Paid Parental Leave may be available for newborn or newly-placed foster/adopted children. Other leave benefits include military, bereavement, and civic duty. 

Retirement

The State has an excellent, top-ranked pension program. A percentage of an employee's gross wage is deducted pretax and is fully matched by the State, to fund his/her retirement. The retirement system also includes long-term disability insurance, where employees may receive up to two-thirds of their salary if unable to work for six months or more.  Employees may also supplement retirement savings by contributing to a Deferred Compensation plan, with pre- and post-tax options. In addition, State employees are covered by Social Security benefits. 

Life Insurance

Basic life and AD&D insurance ($15,000) is provided and paid for entirely by the State.  Supplemental life insurance benefits for employees and dependents are available at low group rates.
