Phoenix, Ariz - The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) has appointed Commissioner Lea Márquez Peterson to a four-year term on its Board of Directors. NARUC represents State Public Service Commissioners across the nation who regulate essential utility services, including electricity, telecommunications, gas, water, and transportation. The organization also advocates for state utility commissions before the federal government's legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
The Board of Directors oversees NARUC’s operations, finances, and policy development, approving resolutions that guide the Association’s priorities and initiatives.
In addition to her Board appointment, Commissioner Márquez Peterson has been named Chair of NARUC’s Subcommittee on Education and Research (SER). The Subcommittee develops policies and standards for NARUC’s educational and research programs, offering training opportunities, connecting new members with peer ambassadors, and hosting educational forums on key issues.
